Who We Are

John Oliver

John has more than 30 years experience in the real estate industry.  His career actually began back in college days. He earned a degree in real estate from Georgia State University and, after graduation, began working for a real estate research firm. He sold houses for about a year before deciding he wanted to try the commercial side of the business. He became a leasing and property manager for a suburban office park in Atlanta, and it was there that he realized how much he enjoyed the unique challenges of commercial properties.

After working for a number of companies, including Grubb & Ellis and CBRE, he eventually went on to join the senior leadership team at Wells Real Estate Funds. He had the opportunity to be a part of the tremendous growth during his 13 years there, as they purchased nearly $12 billion worth of Class A office real estate. Initially he joined the firm to run its property management group, which also had a lot of responsibility for the asset management functions. Later, he went on to form and lead their national business development practice, which focused on expanding their relationships with their tenant base of all investment-grade, Fortune 500 companies.

In the past year, he has gone on to form two partnerships focused on these great relationships with corporate America, to help companies solve real estate issues.

John has been involved in a leadership capacity with BOMA/Georgia since 1988, including serving as president. He has played an active role at the regional and international levels, most notably serving as the chair of BOMA’s National Advisory Council for three years. He is currently serving as the 2014-2015 Chair of BOMA International.
